Cheers to the Destroyer 'Kaputt' album for ruling so much! Jeers to Sonicare for their bullshit $140 toothbrushes that break after 1 month.
I hope it's true, and I hope that "Kaputt" has nothing to do with quitting music but more to do with one of its definitions, "utterly destroyed." (This means drinking twice in the Destroyer Drinking game! "Mention of Destroyer/destroy/destruction - drink twice.")
I am also nervous about Dan & Co. wanting to call it kaputt because of some stuff he says in this Loscil "spoken word" track, which I heard performed at Columbia University last fall. ("I have lost trust in music. It is horrible.") But art isn't life, right? RIGHT?!?!
The name "Destroyer" and Mel Gibson's amazing "fuck"face will lead you to believe that this is much more menacing than it is. I would actually call it "searching" & "vulnerable"!
